Ashmoor A...........2

Caradon secured promotion and the league title with another home win against a youthful Ashmoor side who showed great composure and some skill.

The home side looked anxious from the start but created a few chances which were repelled by some excellent defence and goalkeeping. Brice, who missed a couple of early opportunities, eventually nursed the ball towards the line only to see team mate Ross Williams nudge the ball home. There were more chances for Caradon with Paul Luiten and Jake Joyce forming a strong partnership in midfield. The Caradon defence of Walsh, Green and Humphries were also called into action as Ashmoor pushed forward for goals.Just before half time Brice scored for himself from a slick penalty corner routine.

Ashmoor came out strongly and scored just after the break when Parkyn scored a net busting reverse stick swipe which flew into the top corner of the goal.

Caradon came back and Farrow reinstated their lead after some good work on the left by man of the match Charlie McCartney. Brice added another before being substituted but Ashmoor kept their heads up and Vizer slotted in a late goal when poaching at the far post after a firm cross by Parkyn.

Caradon celebrated their success after the game. Skipper Steve Walsh said "this was not our best performance but it was great to win a trophy for our new club in its first season. It is just beginning to sink in, but we are already looking forward to playing in the South West League next season. We still have two games left in this league and hope to continue our winning form"

Okehampton............4

SW District league leaders were rocked by an early goal by Speare for the visitors who continued to dominate well into the second quarter of the game. However a sudden flurry of goals (by Joyce, Luiten, Humphries, Brice and Farrow) around half time saw the home team stride away to 5-1.

Okehampton were back in the game after goals by Forester and Garland, but Caradon regrouped and Farrow went on to his hat trick and Brice added another. A late Okehampton goal by Wordsworth ended the scoring feast but Caradon had secured their place at the top of the league
